Ron & Barb Harms - Rotarians of the YearLast night, at our club's annual gavel dinner, Ron & Barb Harms were recognized as our club's 2019 Rotarians of the Year! The award was presented by awards committee chair, Bill Fraser. Normally, this award goes out to an outstanding individual in our club, but the unstoppable team of Ron & Barb made for a well-deserved joint award. Ron & Barb's tireless energy in their Rotary volunteer work has had an incredibly positive effect on both the Bozeman Noon Rotary and Bozeman Sunrise Rotary Clubs. They have spent countless volunteer hours and have donated significant personal funds to further Rotary's missions and projects resulting in a massively positive impact in our community. Ron & Barb are a shining example of Rotary, and none could be more deserving of this year's Rotarian of the Year award!

We Notice You Kristy Buckley! As part of the Rotary District 5390 membership retention program, our club presented a "We Notice You" to fellow member Kristy Buckley at this week's meeting. Member Jody McDevitt told of many interesting things other members did not necessarily know about Kristy from childhood to adulthood. One of the most interesting facts about Kristy, now an attorney at a local firm in Bozeman, is that she started reading the U.S. tax code at the age of 13 for fun! We notice you Kristy, and we are so happy to have you as a part of our club. Please enjoy the coveted "Rotary Post-It Notepad" prize for being noticed. |

Our First "We Notice You" RecipientClub Member Ed Kibbey was the first recipient of our club's "We Notice You" program implemented by our District 5390 Membership chair as a retention tool for clubs. Club member Kristy Buckley "noticed" Ed and we found out that Ed worked directly for President Lyndon B. Johnson in the early 1960's while he was in the military. After Ed was "noticed" he then told some more fascinating and personal stories relating to the former president. Overall, it was a great start to our club's "We Notice You" program! |

BNR again sowing seeds with God's Garden!Last November the Bozeman Rotary Club pledged almost $5,000 for the purchase of a multi-tined tiller to to aid in increasing the production of God's Garden. In order for the tiller top operate efficiently, it quickly became apparent that a seeder was needed to be more precise in row spacing during planting. Bozeman Rotary to the rescue! Dale from God's Garden just received their new Cole planter. It will be fun to see these great new implements working together to increase food production for the Gallatin Valley Food Bank! |
