The Board of the Bozman Noon Rotary Club has agreed to fund an additional $1000 to the Aid for Uganda Fund. Additional funds will be needed which will be matched by Rotary International and the remainder of District Donated Funds.
 
AID FOR UGANDA ORPHANS FUND, (continued)

The current project is to buy a 40' shipping container full of donated goods to assist the needs of the village. The village will keep the container to use for medical supply storage for their clinic. The village is in need of clothing, medical supplies and textbooks for the school. Uganda Orphans Fund has 25 personnel on staff that will oversee the distribution and maintenance of these goods.

Organizers have already collected over 75 boxes of school textbooks (K-4)donated by Belgrade and Manhattan schools. Duncan Hill,instrumental in the formation of this charitable organization, is currently collecting clothing and medical supplies donated by individuals and local churches. In addition to these items, he has received over 70 bicycles to ship as well.

The Rotary Club of the Source of the Nile has once again agreed to assist us on this project, Hill said, and they write: "I was excited to receive your mail which is bringing some "sunshine" into our lives and organizations especially as we partner to help the less fortunate in our midst."

In 2005-06, the Bozeman Noon Rotary Club, donated funds to build 60 bunk beds for the orphans in Uganda, Africa. Duncan Hill, President of Uganda Orphans Fund worked with a sister club in Africa to complete the project. The sister club is The Rotary Club of the Source of the Nile.

Since then the Uganda Orphans Fund has a total of 4 orphan buildings in the village of Kamuli. Housing 60 children each for a total of 240 children. They have completed construction on a school and have almost completed the construction on a medical clinic.

Shawn Hertz, Chairman of the International Affairs Committee has worked closely with the projcet. He said that the organization hoped to complete this project by February 2008. He thanked the Board and the Bozeman Noon Rotary for choosing to implement this project.
