The Rotary Club of Bozeman, established in 1920, is thrilled to have presented Whittier Third Graders with new dictionaries on Wednesday, October 5. Rotarians believe that reading and writing are essential to independence and economic freedom. We volunteer for service projects that promote the ultimate goal of universal literacy for all, beginning in our own community. The Rotary Dictionary Project in Montana is designed to aid third grade teachers in their goal to see that all their students become good writers, active readers, creative thinkers and resourceful lifelong learners.  This year, in Bozeman and Gallatin County, Rotarians will distribute over 1000 student dictionaries to third graders in up to 25 schools. There is no charge to schools, teachers, students or parents.
